The study was published yesterday and timed to coincide with the release of The Lancet's wide-ranging report on the global impact of climate change on human health.
Glasgow emerged as one of the most polluted cities, with a PM2.5s concentration of 16 micrograms per cubic metre, according the Scotsman. London had 15 micrograms of the particles in every cubic metre-sized parcel of air.
