According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, recent images from the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer instrument aboard NASA's Terra satellite confirm that the ice caps located on the Hazen Plateau of northeastern Ellesmere Island are gone.
