Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for a greater effort to tackle desertification as he warned the number of dust clouds hitting the north of the country had increased as a result of climate change.
Discussions about combating climate change between the world’s two largest economies, and two biggest emitters of greenhouse gases, had been frozen since August.
Climate envoys for the U.S. and China have resumed formal talks, according to the White House, following a new agreement. Beijing froze talks in August.
