Pennsylvania: Environmental groups ask for full-cost bonding for oil & gas well plugging
Environmental groups submitted rulemaking petitions to the Environmental Quality Board asking the Board to adopt regulation changes requiring full-cost bonding to cover the costs of plugging conventional and unconventional oil and gas wells.

DEP's Oil and Gas Management Program told the Oil and Gas Technical Advisory Board they plan to continue the process of determining if it is appropriate to develop a regulation covering the road dumping of conventional oil and gas drilling wastewater.

The facility would take shale gas from Pennsylvania, compress it to LNG, then truck or train it across communities in Pennsylvania to be loaded onto ships at a proposed facility in Gibbstown, New Jersey, before being shipped for overseas markets.
