The Democratic National Committee will vote this week on a resolution opposing a push by Sen. Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.) to overhaul the nation's permitting process for energy infrastructure.
House Republicans ended the week without taking final votes on two bills that would have devastated Pennsylvania's environmental permitting programs and eliminated the public's opportunity to review and comment on those permits.
An agency would have to decide whether a new regulation to regulate PFAS chemicals, for example, was more important than an existing regulation covering hazardous waste disposal or surface coal mining they would need to repeal.
