In one of his final, boldest strokes as administrator of the EPA, Andrew Wheeler on Tuesday announced a new “transparency" rule that could keep the agency from considering some of the most well-documented health research in the world.
Researchers had young people document things around them that might be contributing to lung ailments in a region with the nation's worst lung disease rates.
The regulation would prevent EPA's use of studies that promised subjects confidentiality, including pollution research. It mirrors a bill Congress refused to pass.
