A wave of ocean air provided some relief after Portland, Ore., reached 116 degrees on Monday. Temperatures reached the 90s there on Tuesday, forecasters said.
It reached 112 degrees at Portland International Airport in Oregon on Sunday. It was the highest temperature recorded there since historical records began in 1940, forecasters said.
